Original, independent and handmade films.

Filmes de Pedra is a space for the development of original film projects, focused on national or Portuguese-speaking fiction and non-fiction films and co-productions with Brazil and Portugal. Founded by filmmakers Brandán Cerviño and Sabrina Zimmermann, both graduates of the EICTV of Cuba, they stood out with short films such as "En la boca de la mina", awarded at the É Tudo Verdade Festival, and "A comuñón da miña prima Andrea", awarded at the Visions Du Réel and selected in more than 60 festivals. Since 2020, they have been teaching audiovisual production workshops for a diverse audience.

BRANDAN CERVIÑO

Audiovisual director with experience in short films. Graduated in Fine Arts in 2015 from the University of Barcelona. In 2018 he specialized in Documentary Direction in the Regular Course of the International Film and Television School of Cuba, EICTV. He has directed several short films that have been presented at more than 60 international festivals and have won awards at places such as Visions du Reel, AFIDOCS, Malaga Festival or Curtocircuito - Santiago de Compostela International Film Festival. His latest short film A COMUÑÓN DA MIÑA PRIMA ANDREA (2021), was nominated for the Mestre Mateo - Galician Audiovisual Academy Awards in 2022 and pre-selected for Best Documentary Short Film at the 76th Goya Awards (2022). Founding partner of Filmes de Pedra.

SABRINA ZIMMERMANN

She works from a perspective that moves between territories, good stories and affections. She is interested in projects that start from the personal to touch on the political, and in cinema as a place of encounter and transformation. She currently lives in Spain and is a partner in the production company Filmes de Pedra, where she produced the short film A Comuñón da Miña Prima Andrea (2021), directed by Brandán Cerviño. The film was distributed by Marvin & Wayne, selected in more than 60 festivals — including IDFA and Hot Docs — and winner of the Best Short Film award at the 52nd edition of Visions du Réel, where it had its premiere. She also continues to develop projects in Brazil, between São Paulo and her hometown, Chapecó. There she produced her first feature film, Queremo Róque! (2021), directed by Jivago Del Claro, screened at the 1st Chapecó National Film Festival and at the 14th In-Edit Brasil. She is also the producer of the feature film Carcereiras, by the São Paulo director Julia Hannud, selected for Cannes Docs and scheduled for release in 2025. She is currently involved in the development of Cortejo dos Mortos, a new project by director Dario Aldana. She is a graduate of the Regular Course at EICTV – Cuba, where she deepened her relationship with cinema as an ethical and sensitive practice.
